Do I need to be fit?

The hike can be challenging, depending on your fitness levels and weather. There is a combination of steel and wooden steps, stone path and uneven levels. The hike is steep, and we recommend that you carefully consider wether you are capable before booking.

The view

As breathtaking as the view overlooking the fjord is, you will notice a factory set in the fjord with lights and steam. Although it is one of the most climate effective zinc factories in the world, it might disrupt the pure natural beauty for some.

How many treehouses are there?

Woodnest has a total of four treehouses; two Originals and two Mountaintops. Each treehouse is perfect for two people. Our “Original” treehouses have a max capacity of four persons, while our “Mountaintop” treehouses have a max capacity of two persons.

Are meals included?

The only food service we offer is the Lovenest package - a welcome snack platter - and only if ordered.

The Norwegian "cabin tradition" includes bringing your own groceries and making simple and tasty meals in the treehouse.

Can we cook in the treehouse?

Yes! We have a small kitchenette with two induction hot plates, a sink and small fridge. We also provide saucepans and frying pans, cooking utensils and basic cooking essentials like oil, salt and pepper. If cooking is not your thing, we have provided suggestions for local dine-in and takeaway.

Bathroom

The toilet and shower are inside the treehouse (we know, can you believe it?!). Once you have arrived in the nest, you will not have to leave to take care of any of your “business”. Towels and toilet paper are provided for our guests

Travelling with Children

Children are only allowed in the Original Treehouses. Children must be supervised by their parent/guardians at all times. Before bringing children to Woodnest, you should consider additional factors such as steep hills and uneven grounds, steep stairs and cliff edges. Young children will need to be assisted when walking up to the treehouse. We do not have cots or travel beds, you cannot push a stroller up there. We have high chairs, but please notify us when booking if you need a high chair.

Disability Access

Unfortunately, based on the location of the treehouses, we are unable to provide any alternate options for those who use wheelchairs or other mobility aids.

Excess Luggage

We recommend leaving behind anything that you do not need to bring in your locked car. If you are not comfortable with leaving it in your car, or if you do not have your own car, please contact us before check-in, and we will give you descriptions to a small storage room connected to the parking garage.

Can I drink the tap water?

Yes, you can enjoy fresh Norwegian water from the tap.

Can I fly a drone?

It is extremely rare to see the aurora borealis from our location. You will normally have to travel to the north of Norway to be able to see them.

Can we book single nights in weekends?
